About MCE Transport

The University of Mauritius has set up an Excellence Park which aims at addressing national priorities and opportunities through a more flexible organisational structure for promoting Research and Development. Many multidisciplinary centres of excellence(MCE) have therefore been established under this umbrella. MCE Transport is one of them, the objective of which are :

To contribute to research in the various transport sectors of Mauritius with a long term view of proposing possible alternatives for solving the existing transport problems
To promote activities which are in-line with the government programme
To develop and support courses with the aim of providing expert up-to-date knowledge

The present focus is to collaborate in the Road Sector research in the island by doing both theoretical and applied research. The aim is to focus on areas where we can provide proficient know-how and support in this field.
