Student Work Experience Programme        Role of University

Role of participating Organisations              Undergraduate Courses involved in SWEP

FOREWORD

It is with pleasure that we present to you the information brochure of Student Work Experience Programme [SWEP] 2000 and invite your organisation to participate in SWEP 2000. The objective of the SWEP is to better prepare the University students to step into the world of work after graduation by exposing them to a short work placement during their University vacations

We are pleased to place on record our appreciation of the participation and support of enterprises in the public and private sectors during the previous SWEP edition in 1999, which helped to provide an enriching exposure to the world of work to over 150 students. Also, we would like to thank all participating firms for having kindly provided us feedback last year on SWEP 1999 and the performance of the students, which will assist us in improving future programmes.

We again look forward to the full collaboration of organisations both in the public and private sectors, to assist us by recruiting some studients during University vacation time (June to August 2000), and providing them with an appropriate work environment during their period of placement to ensure the success of the SWEP 2000 programme.
