Workshop on Intellectual Property; Relevance to Researchers and Students A Workshop on Intellectual Property was held on Thursday 27 October 2016 at the University of Mauritius, organized by the Knowledge Transfer Office.
The objective of this initiative was to address queries of UoM academics and researchers regarding intellectual property issues. Several speakers from entities such as the Mauritius Research Council, the Industrial Property Office and the Association of Mauritian Manufacturers (AMM) addressed the audience during the course of the workshop. Moreover, lecturers from the Faculty of Law and Management also presented on Intellectual Property for the event. Their input ensured that UoM academics and researchers were armed with the proper tools and knowledge of IP when disseminating and commercialising their research output. Moreover, the audience was also sensitized on the need to reorient their research to ensure that the latter becomes applicable and relevant to various stakeholders such as Private Sector firms, Policy-makers and the community at large. http://www.defimedia.info/legislations-le-droit-la-propriete-intellectuelle-fait-debat
