FOREWORD
The University of Mauritius Student Work Experience Programme
was launched in 1999 in order to give students the opportunity
to perform real life tasks and activities. The programme has been
very successful in providing them with appropriate skills and
preparing them to meet the challenges and realities of the world
of work.
An evaluation of SWEP 2001 and the feedback received from participating
organisations showed a high level of appreciation from both employers
and students.
The University wishes to thank all the organisations, which participated
in SWEP 2001 and enabled some 375 students to benefit from the
work placement programme.
The 2002 edition of SWEP is now being launched and we look forward
as usual to your collaboration and participation for the placement
of our students during the coming winter vacations.
