RATIONALE
The Student Work Experience Programme (SWEP) is designed to
help University students acquire meaningful skills and experience
from the world of work and hence complement their academic skills.
The goal of the programme, which is to primarily assist students
to acquire meaningful exposure to the world of work is very much
needed in today’s competitive business environment. Having given
the students the opportunity to look for information thereby developing
skills such as communication, research, teamwork has not only
provided them with experiential learning required for their professional
development in their chosen careers but has also enabled them
to understand the exigencies of the world of work.
On the whole the SWEP programme will hopefully help the University
students to shape preferences and discern future career aspirations.
The SWEP 2002 is being launched this year as from 03 June 2002
and will last 6-7 weeks.
