Role of Participating Organisations
The participation of Organisations is crucial to the programme.
By recruiting students and training them during the period of
vacation placement through suitable exposure to real-life tasks
and activities, they will be playing an undeniable role in the
building of the human resource capacity-base in Mauritius.
Role of University
The University will allocate the placement of the students under
SWEPby trying as far as possible to match demand and supply, prior
to which a pre-placement orientation seminar will be organised
for the students. We will also designate University SWEP Coordinators
to follow up with the participating Organisations for the smooth
implementation of the programme.
A Certificate of Participation will be issued to all students
who satisfactorily complete the programme.
Before, during and after the programme, the University of Mauritius
and the participating Organisations would maintain a cordial communication
We recommend a stipend of Rs300 per week (non-compulsory) to
cover studentsí incidental expenses.
As financing for the project is limited, we would be able to
respond in priority to the requests of Organisations, which are
providing the recommended stipend.
