Ms. Caroline Ng Chin Chang, a local teacher at the Confucius Institute of the University of Mauritius, participated in the 2025 China Training Program for Local Chinese Language Teachers and observed the “Chinese Language Teaching Heroes” International Teaching Skills Exchange event, held from December 11 to 20, 2025. The program provided her with valuable exposure to advanced concepts and diverse methodologies in international Chinese language education.
During the training and observation program, Ms. Caroline benefited greatly from the experience. Experienced instructors delivered insightful lectures on topics including AI in Chinese language teaching, traditional culture, and classroom activities.
Ms. Caroline viewed the training as a bridge for international educational exchange, allowing her to connect with numerous local Chinese teachers from different countries. Their impressive teaching demonstrations and diverse methodologies greatly broadened her horizons and enriched her professional experience.
On the “Chinese Language Teaching Heroes” International Teaching Skills Exchange event, she observed lesson presentations by teachers from China and other countries. The carefully crafted content and engaging presentation styles reflected their passion and dedication to teaching. Their unique teaching styles and flexible methods also injected new vitality into international Chinese education. In addition, the event experts’ feedback provided practical insights and valuable guidance for her future teaching.
The local teacher plans to apply what she learned to make her classroom more dynamic and spark students’ interest in Chinese culture. She expresses deep gratitude to the Language Center and Beijing Normal University for organising the training and the opportunity to observe the Chinese teaching event, which enhanced her skills and broadened her perspective. Looking ahead, Ms. Caroline eagerly anticipates further opportunities for training, expert sharing, and international collaboration in Chinese language education.
