On February 28, the Confucius Institute at the University of Mauritius was invited to attend the 2026 “Happy Chinese New Year” float parade in Port Louis. Jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius, the China Cultural Centre, and local cultural institutions, the event is an important part of the Spring Festival celebrations, promoting cultural exchange and friendship.
The event featured vibrant lion and dragon dances, festive drum performances, and a lively float parade that drew large crowds. It concluded at Caudan Waterfront with interactive cultural booths showcasing traditional Spring Festival items, creating a joyful atmosphere and enhancing Chinese cultural experiences among the local populace.
