A delegation of three academic staff of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU), Hangzhou, China paid a courtesy visit to the Confucius Institute at University of Mauritius on 25th August 2025. The delegation comprised of Professor Li Hongjun, Dr Cheng Xiaoying and Ms Shi Lin from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation and was hosted by the Dean of Faculty of Engineering, Associate Professor Yash Surnam.
The visit is an offshoot of the interaction Dr Surnam had during his recent visit of the School as part of the Educational Staff Exchange Programme held in Nov 2024. The Dean of the Faculty of UoM and his counterpart discussed potential areas of collaboration between the two partner institutions.
Today, the School and the Faculty have presented an application to the Ministry of Education in China for the funding of a project in the field of material composites under the China-Africa Research Scheme.
CI-UoM wish both parties a successful application and a fruitful collaboration.
