The two Directors of Confucius Institute, Mrs Yang Fang and Dr Naraindra Kistamah, paid a courtesy visit to Professor Kavi Kumar Khedo, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius. They handed over a letter of congratulations from Professor Chen Wenxing, President of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU), who extends his warmest congratulations to the Vice-Chancellor for his distinguished appointment. He is also delighted to for the automatic appointment of Professor Khedo as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Confucius Institute at UoM. This dual appointment is a testament to Professor Khedo’s outstanding leadership. ZSTU treasures the strong partnership and fruitful collaboration which the two universities enjoyed over the past 9 years, particularly through the platform of the Confucius Institute. Professor Chen is truly proud of the joint efforts in advancing educational and cultural exchanges. ZSTU looks forward with great enthusiasm to the strengthening of the existing ties and exploring new horizons of cooperation.
The two Directors gave a summary of the activities performed at CI-UoM and briefly explained CI’s work plan for 2026. On behalf of CI-UoM, Mrs Yang Fang wished Professor Khedo well in his role as Vice-Chancellor and presented a token of appreciation to him. She also expressed CI’s full support and collaboration to achieve the vision of the University.
