On 25th May 2019, a singing concert was held at the auditorium of University of Mauritius and hosted by CI-UoM.  In his opening speech, Associate Professor Tan Xudong welcomed the special guest, Mr. Gong Yufeng, the acting Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Mauritius, the main solo singer, Mrs Huang Weiwei from Hezhou College of Guangxi Province and the audience.

The concert consisted of four parts: the first part was on ‘Beautiful China’; the second part was about the charm of different ethnic minorities of China; the third part recounted the charm and warmth of Mauritius and the fourth part was about the friendship between China and Mauritius. Mrs Huang Weiwei opened the concert with a fantastic performance of ‘China, I Love You’. Another outstanding performance was given by 10 year-old girl singer. Her delicate and pleasant voice captured the large audience and brought warm applauses. Mr. Gong Yufeng, Councilor of the Embassy of People’s Republic of China and acting Ambassador, presented a song and dance entitled ‘My Hometown in the Northeast of China’ and the performance added a very pleasant surprise to the concert.
