On 16 July, Confucius Institute at the University of Mauritius held a cultural event of Chinese calligraphy practice at the teaching center at the University of Technology, Mauritius. Through calligraphy showcase, cultural talks, hands-on writing practice, and personalized Chinese names, participants gained a deeper appreciation of Chinese calligraphy and traditional culture.

Students learned about the cultural significance of the Chinese character Fu (福), Spring Festival couplets, the five major calligraphy scripts, and the Four Treasures of the Study. Guided by the teachers, they practiced writing Chinese characters and received personalized Chinese names and Chinese stamps as souvenirs.

The event combined cultural learning with practical experience, further inspiring participants' interest in the Chinese language and culture while strengthening cultural exchanges.
