Visit of University of Mauritius (UoM) Delegation to Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU), Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, 28th June to 05th July 2017

From 27th June to 5th July, a delegation from University of Mauritius (UoM), led by Pro Vice-Chancellor of Academia, Professor Sanjeev Kumar Sobhee, visited Zhejiang Sci-Tech University.

All the members of the delegation were warmly received by the Chairman of the ZSTU Council, Mr Wu. During the six days’ visit, the delegation make a tour of ZSTU campus, visiting the library, various laboratories and research facilities, the canteen and other facilities; famous enterprises in Hangzhou and some historical/tourist sites of Hangzhou. They are much impressed by the beauty of the campus and the rapid development of the city.

The delegation also held meetings with deans of relevant colleges of ZSTU, discussing potential cooperation in various academic areas, exchange of students between the two universities and joint programmes. Dr. Kistamah, Mauritius Director of Confucius Institute, and two of his departmental colleagues were invited to attend a “workshop” held at ZSTU in October 2017. On the last two days, the delegation held talks with the Director of College of International Education at ZSTU on the development of Confucius Institute at University of Mauritius. The visit of the UoM delegation to ZSTU was very fruitful. It helped strengthen the bond between the two universities and promote the relationship between them.
