Abstract :

Ocean resources and its environment contribute significantly to the global community. As demand for resources increases and land resources getting scarce, development in the ocean sector is increasing at a fast rate. For many ocean resources can bring along opportunities to address pertinent issues such as food, water security and social welfare. Technology is key to sustainable development of ocean resources.

The purpose of this conference is to highlight how technology is being used to contribute to the challenges of addressing sustainable development of ocean resources. For those countries having an Exclusive Economic Zone, the ocean or blue economy is being given due importance. The development of the Ocean Economy is happening worldwide and at a time when the importance of sustainable development is of great significance. How can technology help developing ocean resources in a sustainable way? This conference aims at highlighting these opportunities.

This International Conference has been organised by the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras since 1996. This particular conference is the fifth of the series and is being held for the first time outside India.

The event will be marked by the participation of eminent scientists from Japan, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Singapore, South Africa, India and Mauritius.

Programme

The International Conference on Energy, Environment and Climate Change (ICEECC 2019) is being organised by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Mauritius. The conference will be held on 2 - 4 July 2019 at Westin Turtle Bay Resort & Spa, Balaclava, Mauritius. The ICEECC 2019 is a multi-disciplinary, peer-reviewed international conference on sustainable energy and environment. The conference will focus on energy production and management, green energy, environmental engineering, environmental management, climate change and sustainable development. The conference will provide a forum to:

  •       Exchange of latest technical information
  •        Disseminate of the high-quality research results
  •        Present of the new developments in the area
  •        Discuss the future global development on energy access, energy security together with the associated environmental impacts.

PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS

  • Participants/delegates attending ICEECC 2019 will come from a cross-sectoral range of areas. They are:

    • teaching staff and research staff at agriculture research centres and universities;
    • project officers and consultants in enterprises
    • PhD students working in the field of energy and environment;
    • other people interested in the field.

    It is believed that this wide range of participants will help to outline the need for integrated approaches towards sustainable development and, hence contribute to the further dissemination of best practice in this field.

The Second International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering (ELECOM 2018)

https://www.elecom2018.com/

The International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering (ELECOM) was organised by the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the University of Mauritius. This is the premier event that brings together industry professionals, academics, and individuals from government agencies and other institutions to exchange information and ideas on electrical, electronic, communication engineering and computing. The conference featured a comprehensive technical program offering numerous technical sessions with papers showcasing the latest technologies, applications and services.

The second edition of this conference was held at Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel, Belle Mare, in Mauritius, on 28-30 November 2018. The Republic of Mauritius is a tropical island located about 1200 miles off the south eastern coast of Africa in the Indian Ocean. It is surrounded by a beautiful stretch of 93 miles of white sandy beaches. Mauritius has a rich multi-cultural diversity and is the home of two UNESCO world heritage sites.

The conference also hosted a workshop on "Fascination with Systems Engineering” whose purpose was to raise awareness around the application of systems engineering in multiple industries. It was cross cutting and had several interfaces with traditional electrical, electronic and communications engineering and many of the topics covered by the ELECOM 2018 conference page. Participants of this workshop from both academia and industry benefited from the wide experience of the presenters and the real-life applications in major industries.
