ROBOTICS LAB

TThe Robotics lab is located on level 2, Phase 2 Building, University of Mauritius. It is within the MCID lab premises. It is a specialized lab dedicated to robotics and IoT related projects. The Lab facilities are used by both researchers and students to generate solutions to pressing problems of national interest. The main focus of the lab is on robot building and programming. It enables students to design and build artifacts to complement their conventional computing education. Apart from enhancing the technological competences of our students, the Robotics Lab aims to improve their critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making capabilities. Students can learn how to build innovative robotics projects and have good hands-on experience on robots programming. The Robotics Lab also provides MPhil/PhD students with the necessary infrastructure to conduct research in the diverse areas of computer vision, robotics sensor systems, automation and control. Moreover, in this Robotics Lab, researchers are able to use programming tools to design, build and program robots that solve industry-relevant, real-world problems. From self-driving cars to industrial robots working alongside humans, to robot swarms supporting search and rescue operations, this lab enables researchers to develop the critical thinking and technical skills necessary to generate new solutions to pressing problems.
