Project Title: Design and Implementation of an Autonomous Messenger

Service robots are becoming more and more popular nowadays and their applications are diverse. These robots are utilized to assist human in daily tasks. An identified problem at the university is the delay in informing students about class cancellations or changes in venues.
The use of emails is inefficient in this case because by the time one email is sent by a lecturer, if he has the time and appropriate media to do so, students would be already waiting for the latter in classrooms.
An autonomous messenger would allow lecturers to inform student about lecture change from wherever they are by simply sending a message to the robot via their mobile phones. The application of the robot is not exclusively restricted on lecture changes, it can also serve as a general information provider on daily activities going on at the university.
