 Robin  Rajesh

Dr. Robin Nunkoo and Dr. Rajesh Jeewon from the University of Mauritius have been recognized by Clarivate™ in its "Highly Cited Researchers" list of 2021 (https://lnkd.in/dMyNb3Ki). Clarivate is a public American company and a well-respected global leader in providing trusted insights and analytics in the areas of scientific and academic research.

Each year, Clarivate™ identifies the world’s most influential researchers ─ the select few who have been most frequently cited by their peers over the last decade. In 2021, fewer than 6,700, or about 0.1%, of the world's researchers, in 21 research fields and across multiple fields, have earned this exclusive distinction as demonstrated by the production of multiple highly cited papers that rank in the top 1% by citations for field and year in the Web of Science™. Of the world’s scientist and social scientists, highly cited researchers are one in 1000 according to Clarivate.

For the first time, researchers from Mauritius are included in the list. University of Mauritius joins other world leading universities in the league.

Dr. Nunkoo, who holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo, Canada, has been recognized as a highly cited researcher in the “Social Sciences” category. He has research interests in political economy, sustainable tourism, informetrics, and quantitative techniques.

Dr Jeewon holds a PhD from the University of Hong Kong and has been ranked in the “Plant and Animal Sciences” discipline. He specializes in fungal taxonomy and biodiversity. Based on Google Scholar, Dr Jeewon has over 12,000 citations with an H index of 62.

This is not only a personal achievement, but a recognition for the University of Mauritius and the country, both said!
