Physical Layout

Located almost in the geographic centre of the campus, the University Library has an area of 32,200 sq. ft spread over four floors with a book capacity of 180,000 volumes approximately and space for 350 readers.

The ground floor houses the administrative section, office of the Chief Librarian, office of the Senior Library Officer and Library Officers and the Circulation Counter. It comprises a security area as well as a multi-purpose auditorium presently occupied by the Campus Numérique Francophone. There is also an area equipped with PCs where users can have access to online materials and also various databases to which the library subscribes.

The first floor is an open area with reader tables and a popular browsing area. The sections that are found on this floor are the Mauritiana Section, offices of Senior Librarian, Librarian, Senior Library Officer and Library Officers.

The second floor is used for stacking the main book collection and space for studying purposes.

The third floor is occupied by Reserve Collection, Law Collection, UN, ILO, World Bank and Reference collection. There is also space for reading and studying purposes.
