
The Finance Director is the Head of the Section. According to the Visitor's Report and Section 14(2) of the UoM statutes, the Finance Director reports to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Planning & Resources) and is responsible for:
. All matters concerning the finance of the University
. Reporting on the financial implications of proposed developments and programmes
. Promoting the most effective use of financial resources
The Finance Section is dedicated to supporting the University's mission by providing effective financial management, timely reporting, and strategic guidance.
Our team consists of experienced professionals in accounting, budgeting, and procurement.
Promote sound financial governance and compliance across the University.
Provide strategic financial advice to support academic and administrative planning.
Deliver timely, accurate, and transparent financial reporting.
Optimize resource allocation for institutional efficiency and sustainability.
To advise the Vice-Chancellor and other Senior Management officers with regard to financial matters.
Increase transparency of income and full costs of activities across the University.
Maintain and improve the financial systems and processes such that they are easy to access quickly and efficiently.
Develop a culture of customer service and support to continually improve the provision of financial advice to senior management.
To prepare an Annual Budget and financial forecasts.
Setting financial performance targets for departments and the university as a whole(Budgets, ad hoc benchmarking).
Liason with Deans of Faculty, Officer-in-Charge, Directors of Centre, Heads of Department to ensure constant feedback on financial matters.
