The University of Mauritius has been able to secure funds from external funding organisations of international repute such as La Commission de l"Ocean Indien, L’Agence Française de Développement (AFD), European Union (EU), European Commission (EC), Institute of Research for Sustainable Development (IRD), Indian Ocean Commission (IOC), IORA, The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), European Education and Culture Executive Agency, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), USA amongst others. 

Over the past three financial years, several externally funded projects have been initiated as summarised in the table below:
